2nd IASS @ UPM
"Unforgettable Experience"

I have no words to explain this feeling but I'm just trying to share awesome experience which never can be forgotten forever, till the end !!! It's totally great to attend an event which collaborates and shares about agriculture, namely 2nd IASS International Agriculture Student Symposium in UPM ( Universiti Putra Malaysia, 11 July - 20 July 2010 ).

Flied with AirAsia Indonesia at 6.30 am directly from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Jakarta to KLCCT Sepang, Malaysia. Took around 2 hours to accomplish flight arriving in Malaysia. We (Indonesia Delegates, from Bogor Agricultural University) really enjoyed the flight. Arrived in Airport, the committee had been already there to welcome us very warmly. We thought it's great !!!Smiley. They took us by UPM bus after brief welcome informal ceremony such as introduction to know each others.
Ok, right then we arrived in P1 and P2 - International Colleges -and once a very warm welcome from the committee who already been there in Check-in desk. Thus, took us each participant to the room. Fortunately I got 127 in 1st floor, so I didn't took many times to go to reservation place.Smiley

At night, we made our first gathering which organized rapidly by the committee as "Welcoming Reception" in Dewan Pertanian, UPM. Met with other participants from all over countries, Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand-Japan-Sri Lanka-India-Australia-Oman, Viet Nam came later. They are so very welcome. Feeling like a big family to make a gatheringSmiley
Also played some games such "Chicken Dance"Smiley so funny !!!

In the morning, had our first breakfast, some Malay foods combined with others were so yummy. Sitting down in mingle to get closer with others, it's so great. Then, by bus we visited MPOB (Malaysian Palm Oil Board) in Bangi, continued to Ministry of Agriculture and Agro-Based Industry Malaysia in PUTRA JAYA - a new modern city for government affairs -.
In Putra Jaya, we also visited Flower Festival, some beautiful creations were showed off. Participants never missed this chance by taking some picturesSmiley
The last was visiting to fruit market placed nearly to Flower Shows. There were some of DuriansSmiley. Ok, it's time to go back !!!

It was
Opening Ceremony in Dewan Pertanian UPM by Vice Chancellor and also an Panel Discussion by 4 participants of 4 countries, Indonesia (Rabiatul Adwiyah), Malaysia (Chin Wei Feng), Vietnam (Nguyen Nhat Huynh Mai) and India (Gurraj Singh Dhillon) was about Minimizing the Impact of Agriculture on Climate Change. This section was moderated by Prof.Dr.Mohd Khanif Yusop.

Next place should be in Tissue Culture Laboratory, UPM. Some of experts practiced and introduced how this laboratory activity should be conducted. Many information and knowledge, hopefully will be useful some day.


Ok, we'd arrived in Faculty of Agriculture and went to
Sultan Abdul Samad Library, UPM. Inside we watched a short movie about the history and some interesting facilities offered by Library, also the last but not least were some souvenirsSmiley.



The last visit for today was Ladang 16, where an interesting explanation about artificial insemination was directly showing off to participants. Really precious and also funny.

This was our first day conference, a little bit nervous. Country paper presentation took first time by Malaysia Representative, Catherine Dharshini Labrooy (UPM). Then followed by Indonesia which presented by me and Sachnaz Desta Oktarina (IPB). And then so on...



This night was
Cultural Performance Night, really amusing. 8 Performances from UPM and last belong to Bogor Agricultural University. It's so funny, there was a lot mistakes, fortunately the audiences were amusedSmiley. Our Saman Dance-Manuk Dadali Song-Yamko Rambe Yamko Dance-Waka Waka were crazy.
  • 15th - 17th July 2010

We were still in conference. A lot ideas and experiences were shared in order to encourage mutual understanding in Agriculture and hopefully would be benefit for people.


We (IPB Delegates) took a chance in a night for KLCC togetehr with our beloved lecturer, Bu Ratih. Then continued to Down Town (Pasar Malam) and Putra Jaya Bridge for some picts.

Took "Jump-Picts" in front of Twin Tower were crazily tiring. Some of styles and craziness,, really funny. Next was to across on Skybridge, to view KL beautifully.



Look around KL on Skybridge on 10 minutes,, awesome. Took a pict with our beloved Sensei HasegawaSmiley. Next places were
Central Market and Bukit Bintang. Shopping time !!!

Our last day excursion was in D-Paradise, some fruits there. Yummy !!! and Traditional performance. Dance together!!!
And here was Bee Museum, near Taman Mini Malaysia and ASEAN, next place should be in Malacca (one of world heritage)

Melacca is a beautiful city !!!
But 10 days felt is not enough, tonight would become our last night in Farewell Party.


Enjoying all night long with some crazy performances and Durian Party but really AMUSING !!!
So sad to leave you all.

This day was our last that all participants should check out. It's hard to leave each other, hopefully other chance we can meet again.
